Ran the City to Surf with number 2 today. What a magic event the c2s is. I love anything that brings Sydneysiders together even if it is just for a day. Tommorow we will all jump back in our cars and cut people off or push in front of the old lady getting on the bus but oh for that one day. 1 out of 365 beats 0 thats for sure.
We bumped into Andrew Taylor and his son Tom as we waited for the start which thankfully was a good distraction for Samuel. Before too long we were on our way to Bondi. There was no point in trying to break world records, the first 2kms was virtually walked and the rest was run at a pace that was safe as manageable.
Aside from the hold ups which we expected we had a brilliant time. Samuel enjoyed his trip so much so that I forgot he was in the pram! YOu will never do so much zigzagging as you do running the c2s with a pram.
Great to catch up with the striders clan at the finish, with some fabulous results. Special congrats to my training pal 26 who at the ripe old age of 172 earnt his first preferred start for next year. Congrats fella, well deserved! Also fantastic to share the day with mother and the rabbit(and she was a rabbit today...) who made the trek to the finish.
Must say the real battle at c2s is actually getting home, we had one very tired and fractuous(sp) 3 year old to add to the mix. When we finally got to Town Hall we missed a Stanmore train by 30 seconds - next train in 30 minutes - oh joy!
All up a top day out, big thanks especially to Jen, JD and the cheerers in fron of Nth Bondi RSL - thanks for the encouragement and shout.

My pleasure. So lovely to see you - albeit briefly - as you flew past!
Good to see you out today SF. No 2 is certainly getting pretty big. Probably see you again at North Head if you get over or around the bay.
You're absolutely right in assessing the way this race brings the whole of Sydney together Nick. It is always a great day and the sign of warmer weather being on its way.
I'd like a fast pram pusher in front of me next year.
It was a great day once again.
